This is something that I do not draw very often at all - it's extremely difficult for me to draw a character in an orthographical point of view. I struggle a lot with the side view, it's hard to get the silhouette of the character to look.. believable. Practice makes better, though!

The Tollerian giants can be found lurking around paths and walkways between Windtown and the forests of Aldurr. They are savage beings and survive by rampaging and pillaging conveys and trading merchants who are daring enough to cross the routes of the giants territories.

Huntsman Creature - Guard Dog

This creature is a natural guard, very massive and ferocious. Two splintering rows of razor sharp teeth for crushing through armor, six glowing eyes makes this beast very aware. The animal also has a blue tongue that it uses to track its prey, the length making it possible to get a taste of the ground while being in motion. Thick spikes of rugged bones along the spine makes it a difficult target to attack in close range.

The last part of the concept design assignment is to design a few of the creatures (or enemies) appearing in the story. I want to focus on the guard dog and the trolls, as they did in "The Skillful Huntsman" concept art book.

Here's a few thumbs of how I imagine the guard dog, ranging from "cute and comical" to "ugly and aggressive" - I've marked out the designs I found interesting myself, will probably make a final design that incorporates some of these.

Some more thumbs, this time of a Giant / Troll type of enemy. I'm very fond of the two lower ones. I like the attitude, or pose of the left one and the "ogrish" look on the one to the right.

A few variations of the Huntsman "airgun" - a weapon utilizing air pressure to shoot pellets / bullets.

The wrench that the Apprentice uses before he earns his airgun. Basic, blunt melee / close combat weapon. A very common tool (or weapon) for workers who lives in Windtown.

Huntsman Vehicle

One hour sketch of a "vehicle" design for "The Skillful Huntsman" assignment. Inspired by thumbnail 1 and 4 from the thumbs I made earlier.

I went with the more "primitive" type of transportation - I've always been a fan of mounts in games and worlds in general so I like where this design is headed.

The adult Odondron is 8-10 meters tall, if supported by its hind legs it can utilize the head as a "ladder" for the user, extending its height by an additional 3 meters. The workers of the Windtown have made an excellent use of this when maintaining the many windmills throughout the city.

The Odondron is a plant-eater and naturally found near the rich mountains of Windtown and the surrounding areas, due to the green and very organic environment. It's not very aggressive unless provoked, but only skillful huntsmen or very agile people may try to gain access to mount this beast.

Sketching up some quick and inspiring thumbnails for a vehicle/form of transportation for "The Skillful Huntsman" world. Once I was done with the thumbnails I really fell for the idea of having a circular or spherical type of vehicle - where the driver or drivers would place themselves in the middle, preferably having some sort of gyro to keep them in center at all times.

Giving the thought some reflection and seeing how my environmental design is - it might be more logical to go for a more primitive type of transportation. I'm not sure, I've been imagining a world in semi-future.

The orange "blob" is obviously the driver.

For a course in drawing where I got to decide on what I wanted to focus on - I chose to focus on anatomy, how to get a "vivid" and alive pose - as well as looking believable. I'm using www.posemaniacs.com as a tool for inspiration and "guidelines" on how to draw up muscles or quick inspiration for a croquet ish workflow and mindset.
